Few Facts about Robbie


If there is one person who clearly stands out in the music industry, that would be Robbie Williams. He is in fact, one of the world's greatest pop stars. Who hasn't heard the hit songs "She's the One" and "Angels"? His music has topped the charts and made countless hearts fall in love all over the world.

Robert Peter Williams or simply Robbie Williams, and English singer-composer, first rose to fame in the mid-1990's with his band Take That, wherein he was the group's youngest member. However, he left the group in 1995 to pursue his career as a solo artist. He launched his first solo album entitled "Life Thru a Lens" which gained him a modest amount of sales. Not long after this, his record sales rocketed after the launch of his single "Angels", and made him gain his rightful place in the music industry. And indeed, he became one of the most sought after singers and is among the best-selling music artists all over the globe.

Robbie Williams launched albums year after year. Over the years, he has worked with other famous music artists like Frank Sinatra, Nicole Kidman, Rupert Everett, Kylie Minogue, Jonathan Wilkes, and many more. He also got the chance to work with his favorite band Queen in the song "We are the Champions".

Robbie Williams has won a lot of awards and distinctions as a singer. He was a four-time awardee of Best British Male Solo Artist from 1999-2003. He is also a winner of four awards in the MTV European Music Awards as Best Solo Artist. These are just among the many achievements of Williams. And because of these numerous achievements, he was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2004 for his exemplary performance and contribution to British music, thus bringing pride to the British culture.

But wait, there's more! He also made it to the Guinness Book of World Records in 2006 for selling 1.6 million concert tickets in a day. His achievement in the music industry is indeed very outstanding, that when the world would be asked to name a great performer, Robbie Williams wouldn't be missed out.
